It was not my plan to dive
Headlong into the tangle
Of your enveloping ocean,
I loved you
Unintentionally.
You were a lovable being
And I gradually
Became a jumble
Of emotion.
I wanted my wings
To be barely caressed
By the waves of the beach,
I was never an albatross
That insomniac spent the night
Gliding on the high seas.
But on all sides
Of the cosmos,
The days flowed
In undulating zigzags.
And now I am a prisoner of the longing
To pass through your lime,
Your sea, your salt.
To venture into
The sea odyssey,
Like the intrepid Sinbad,
I long to set sail
In unique caravels,
To enter your kingdom
With my galleon full
Of pearls and golds,
Cups and stars,
Clubs and swords,
With a thousand crystal amphorae.
I want to know what lies
Beyond the gates
Of your kingdom of great Khan.
